Current Status: March 2018

Since the last public meeting on the issues in Nobscot, staff in multiple departments have been working together on a number of different projects to keep the momentum of the 2015 planning work going through the transition from Town to City. Rendering of Nobscot Complete Street Intersection Improvements from Northeast Corner of Water/Edgell
Update as of March 2018

Framingham DPW staff is planning to upgrade this intersection in the next year.  These plans will include new crosswalks, new signals, and additional turning lane capacity.   The image on the left shows an aerial rendering of the proposed changes viewed from the Northeast corner of the Water Street/Edgell Road intersection.  

​Nobscot Plaza Public Meeting
January 11, 2017

City officials, plaza property owner, and architects presented revised plans at a community forum at the Heritage. Public interest was very strong with standing room only. The plans call for a mixed-use development of 163 apartments, retail shops along Water Street, and a CVS pharmacy at the corner of Water St. and Edgell Rd.

Public Information Workshop #3
June 8, 2015

The Cecil Group presented findings and recommendations from the Village Center Study related to design, marketing and reinvestment, public realm improvements, and regulatory strategy. Residents were encouraged to provide input in an open forum, and also to discuss the issues with City staff.
