Deputy Chief Craig Davis joined the Framingham Police Department in 1985. Previously, he had served as a Federal Agent with the United States Customs Service in Boston. He was appointed the department’s first D.A.R.E. officer, developing and teaching the program in Framingham’s elementary schools. Deputy Chief Davis was promoted to Sergeant in 1990, Lieutenant in 1996 and Captain in 2001. His assignments have included service in the Investigative Services Bureau, working with the Public Corruption Task Force, the FBI, the U.S. Attorneys Office and the U.S. Department of Labor. He served as the Commander of the Administrative Services Bureau, rewriting the departments Policy and Procedure manual, coordinating all training including firearms, domestic violence, search and seizure and motor vehicle and criminal law programs. Davis is the Commander of the department’s Critical Response Team, which he researched, planned, organized and staffed. This is the department’s first team trained to respond to high-risk incidents. The Deputy has overseen the development of the teams training, it’s mission and the criteria for selection of personnel. He has supervised and coordinated all training with the F.BI and the Massachusetts State Police and developed the policy and procedure for the operation and deployment of the unit. Deputy Chief Davis received his B. S. in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University in 1982 and his Master of Arts in Public Administration from Framingham State College in 1997. He has attended the Senior Management Institute for Police, the Massachusetts Police Leadership Institute at UMASS Lowell, and the New England Institute of Law Enforcement at Babson College. |
