The Safety Division is an extremely diverse department that is responsible for interaction and coordination between the Department and other community agencies to ensure the safety of many different events that occur within the Town of Framingham. From a recent shift in personnel, this department is now under the direction of Deputy Chief Steven Trask and is comprised of one Lieutenant, four patrol officers, a parking enforcement officer, two full time and two part time animal control officers and 26 part time school crossing guards.

The Safety Officer is responsible for the school crossing guards who safeguard the passage of our school aged children who walk to school. The Safety Officer is also responsible for the development and implementation of traffic safety programs designed to enhance compliance with the motor vehicle laws of the Commonwealth.
